Viticulture and Enology Outreach
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ outreach efforts trace their roots back to Liberty Hyde Bailey, the first dean of the college. Today, the Viticulture and Enology Program draws on the expertise of over 40 faculty in viticulture, enology, plant pathology, entomology, and economics whose outreach encompasses the entire breadth of New York State, from Lake Erie to Long Island. Working in vineyards, wineries and labs located in all of New York’s major wine and grape-growing regions, extension educators provide research-based innovations and technologies that benefit wine makers, grape growers and consumers around the world.
