Cornell's enology extension team is engaged in many activities designed to improve the quality and visibility of New York winery products. The group organizes several winery-focused workshops each year, including the Wine Industry Workshop, a wine analysis shortcourse, and a variety of special-topics classes. Research initiatives focus on quality and processing issues relevant to NY wineries. In cooperation with Cornell’s grape breeding project, the Vinification & Brewing Laboratory vinifies new winegrape hybrids and evaluates them for enological viability in the region. In addition, the Wine Analysis Lab offers competitively-priced juice and wine analysis to wineries in New York and elsewhere.
